Cybersecurity Vulnerability Assessment & OWASP Top 10 Mapping System Using Sentence-BERT and Google Gemini AI
An automated cybersecurity vulnerability assessment platform that ingests and standardizes scan reports from two industry-leading vulnerability scanners (Nessus and OpenVAS). The system utilizes the Sentence-BERT (paraphrase-MiniLM-L6-v2) NLP model to compute semantic embedding representations and calculate cosine similarity across multi-scanner findings, accurately maps technical vulnerabilities to the international OWASP Top 10 standard taxonomy, and integrates Google Gemini AI to deliver executive summaries, scientific reasoning for vulnerability relationships, and actionable mitigation checklists ready for engineering execution.
System Pipeline Architecture
Core Capabilities & Key Features
01. Automated Multi-Scanner Ingestion
Directly parses and ingests raw vulnerability assessment scan reports from Nessus and OpenVAS in both PDF and CSV formats using PyMuPDF, eliminating manual document preprocessing.
02. Semantic Similarity via Sentence-BERT
Measures cross-scanner vulnerability relevance and correlations by calculating semantic embedding vectors and Cosine Similarity scores with the paraphrase-MiniLM-L6-v2 model.
03. OWASP Top 10 Taxonomy Classification
Maps technical scanner findings into the world's most critical web application security categories (including Broken Access Control, Injection, and Security Misconfiguration).
04. AI Reasoning & Actionable Remediation
Google Gemini AI synthesizes complex findings into clear executive summaries, explains underlying root causes, and delivers structured, step-by-step mitigation checklists.
